Opened in 1979, The Pousada de Palmela is located in the historic Castle of Palmela, integrating the cloisters of the old convent that was built in the Castle.\n \nThis hotel in Palmela takes advantage of a splendid location, perched on an imposing hill, making this site, just a few miles from Lisbon, an ideal place to rest. The Pousada de Palmela gives you an extensive panorama of the Serra da Arrabida and the Atlantic Ocean or of the plains and fields of the region’s vines.\n \nThere is little information about the origin of Palmela before the conquest of Lisbon by D Afonso Henriques, when the Muslims surrendered this region to the Christian hosts.\nIn “Os Lusiadas” Luis de Camoes nevertheless is exalted by the achievements of D.
