“Quinta do Alto de São João” is a traditional Madeiran late XIX century manor for a wealthy family, with a huge fruit garden and farm.\nThe manor has been thoroughly renovated in 2002, preserving its original style of classical romantic atmosphere of the vintage years, now including all modern conveniences (internet, Wi-Fi, cable and satellite television, swimming pool, billiards).\nThe building is more than 1000 square meters; the land is more than 5000 square meters.\nThe St. Johns Mountain, where the manor is located, is a picturesque place with clean and fresh air, and beautiful ocean and mountain views. Walking trails in the eucalyptus forests are located within easy reach.\nThe manor is located in the quiet rural area, aside of the busy roads and noisy cities, though only 20 minutes drive from the center of Funchal – the capital of Madeira, and 40 minutes drive from the airport.\nCurrently it is an active 15 room’s hotel for eco tourists and people who admire peaceful and quite vacation spots, popular among guests from Western Europe.\nIf you just want to relax, you can find an outdoor swimming pool (not heated), a solarium and a Honesty Bar.\nIn the Restaurant, the Quinta offers a continental buffet breakfast to the guests.\nGuests have a choice of cereals, tea and coffee, a selection of bread, cold meat and cheese, yoghurt, a selection of juices and platters of freshly fruit.\nBreakfast is served daily from 8.00 a.m. until 10.00 a.m.\nOur Honesty Bar is open to you at all times!\nUpon returning to the hotel from a long day of working, sightseeing or shopping, we want our guests to feel at home.
