  • Day 1

    On this starting day you will have the opportunity to explore Lisbon, the wonderful capital of Portugal, with its genuine old quarters and exquisite monuments evocating the glorious days of the Portuguese discoveries in the 15th and 16th centuries.

    In the afternoon the journey will continue towards the incredible small town of Sintra that inspired Lord Byron and Hans Christian Andersen and where you can also visit the fairy tale Palace of Pena. Heading north you will end your day in the lovely walled city of Óbidos where peace and serenity are just waiting for you. Free time

  • Day 2

    After a short walk in the morning in Óbidos it will be time to explore the picturesque fishing village of Nazaré with its magnificent view of the Atlantic Ocean.

    The monastery of Alcobaça, which once belonged to the silent Cistercian monks with its impressive Gothic architecture and the Monastery of Batalha (Pantheon of several Portuguese kings) and example of the unique “Manuelino” architectural style will be some of the highlights of the day. The next stop will be in Fátima, famous for the 1917 Apparitions of Our Lady and one of the most important religious sites in the world. Drive to Tomar to see Convento de Cristo.

  • Day 3

    After a small walk near the River Nabão, we will continue to Porto, the capital of the North of Portugal.

    Porto will present itself with characteristic aroma of the Port Wine, aged in the Port Wine Cellars, where we will go for a small tasting, blended with the gentle sounds of the river Douro. The old houses, facing the river. At night the bridge D. Luis, will be the background setting for a lovely traditional dinner near the River Douro.

  • Day 4

    This day will take you to the greener area of Portugal: the Minho Region. Guimarães, the birthplace of Portugal, will be the first stop of the day. The castle at the top of the hill reminds us of the heroes that once had the dream of creating the nation that we now know as Portugal.

    The city of Braga with the oldest Cathedral in the country it’s considered the religious capital of Portugal and one of the liveliest cities in this region.
    After a visit to these two cities we will continue to Ponte de Lima, in the heart of the “Vinho Verde” (Green Wine) region and Viana do Castelo meeting the Atlantic Ocean once more.

  • Day 5

    The Buçaco forest is one of those places that you would never thought it would exist until you’re finally there. Hundreds of exotic species of plants surround the flamboyant Buçaco palace in the Neo-Manueline style in a scenery worth of a fairy tale story.

  • Day 6

    We will then continue to the student’s capital of Portugal: Coimbra. The 700 year old University at the top of the hill overlooks with magnificence the old medieval town that we will visit. And of course Coninbriga

    All of this will be worth a visit with highlight to the incredible university of Coimbra storing the knowledge of times that went by… The tour will be over by the time we get back to Algarve were we will finish at your hotel.
